I’ve got a lot of camera bags!! Hauling the camera gear is always about configuration, weight, and comfort. There are lots of bags out there but many of them are really big and frankly heavy (before you put any gear in them). I’ve been using the Whisper for a few weeks and am loving it for carrying some gear whether I’m hiking, trail running/fast packing, skateboarding or on my bike. I tend to carry a DLSR with wide angle lens, and a Mavic Pro Drone plus assorted filters, memory, and other accessories. Sometimes I’ve packed a tripod as well and while it adds weight it’s doable and will generally keep it secure and stable. I find that the pack is easy to customize, well balanced and comfortable for all of these activities and getting my camera to where I want to use it.

There are a few cons with the pack but they are more of nits. Obviously you need to take the pack off if you’re going to get the camera out so it’s not a run and gun type pack. Having to lay the pack on the ground to get camera out is kind of annoying when it’s wet (I use the build in rainfly to help protect the pack). The waist strap tends to sit very high on me (not on my hips) due to the size of the pack but as I can only carry so much weight I haven’t noticed it much except when running and even then it is good for keeping the load tight to my body. The only other thing that would be great is better pockets or a way to add a hydration bladder or bottles you can add them to the side pockets but they’re not easily accessible on the go. Again very specific nits.

Overall this is a great pack for the active shooter. If you want to move fast and be active this would be a great choice.
