Although the Contrejour 35 is a bit shorter than the 40, I thought I would put my review here as well. The Contrejour 40 is my “go to” pack! I Love Love LOVE this pack. I use it hiking and repelling slot-canyons in the west, Snowshoeing in the mountains, for short over-nighters, and even for international carry-on luggage! It’s crazy comfortable and holds all of the gear I need/want. This is the pack that opened my eyes to the world of Clik Elite packs. I now own many of their packs.

This review is a warning for very short people like myself:

After receiving the bag, I quickly found out that the features and design of the bag were excellent. It has plenty of attachment points, and the bag does an amazing job of distributing the weight throughout your body.

Although the bag is great, I had to return it immediately because it does not fit me. I am very short (about 5’2″ or 157.5 cm). For me, the major problem is the aluminum bar that is in the top of bag. It is designed to help transfer weight to your hips. Because I am so short, the top of the bag is well above my neckline. Even after spending a lot of time adjusting the bag , the aluminum bar rests against the back of my head and restricts the movement of my neck. Basically I feel like an old school linebacker with the high neck roll.

It is important to remember that I am anomalously short, and the vast majority of people will not encounter this problem. Regardless, this bag is well crafted and should suite a lot adventure photographers. If Click Elite designs a similar bag but smaller (i.e. Contrejour 25 or 30), they can consider me a buyer.

    Hope this review helps,
